Workshop · In person
Teachers often learn most from each other. This peer learning day brought coaches and teachers together to watch lessons, discuss what worked, and plan the next steps.
Teachers said the demonstration lessons were the strongest part of the day. Watching a colleague with a similar class size made the routines feel possible, and the feedback sessions gave coaches a shared language to use in schools.
What teachers took away from a day of watching and talking about practice.

Let teachers see good practice in a real classroom.
Practise giving feedback that is kind, specific and useful.
Leave with one routine each teacher will try next term.
Three live lessons showed the daily phonics routine at normal class size.
Teachers and coaches agreed a simple three-step feedback pattern.
Every teacher chose one routine to try and report back on.
Colleagues sat at the back of the classroom with a one-page observation sheet and noted what the pupils were doing, not just the teacher.

After each lesson the observers shared one thing that worked and one thing to try. The teacher chose which to act on.
